Introducing Kawanishi Glass

Kawanishi’s glass store is run by a private artist who crafts glass pens in Niseko Town, Hokkaido.
All glass pens are made entirely by hand, from the tip to the handle, using borosilicate glass and an oxygen burner. This results in very high transparency while retaining extraordinary precision in the patterns reflected in the glass.
By doing so, transparent and beautiful glassworks are created that are both artistic and practical.

Compared to other types of glass, borosilicate glass has an extremely high melting point, which is why a special oxygen burner is used. This burner produces a high-temperature flame to melt and form the glass.

As the number of glassworks produced per day is limited, it may not be possible to produce them in large quantities. Instead, the artist’s heart and soul are put into every single piece

Glass Dip Pen

Swirls, feathers, and spirals

The three-dimensional patterns encapsulated in the glass are unique and beautiful.
Our pens offer a smooth and soft writing experience that requires very little pressure.
The deep grooves in the tip allow for a long-leaning writing experience with consistent ink flow, whether the tip has just been dipped in ink, or coming to the end of its supply.
While using a glass pen that is not only beautiful but also practical, you can rediscover the joy and elegance of “writing” in today’s computer-driven society. You may also rediscover the nearly forgotten ‘peace of mind.’ Why not try it and experience it for yourself?
