Profile

Brief biography of Hiroyuki Kawanishi

1974
Born in Tokyo.
1995
It was in Vancouver, Canada, where I first came into contact with glasswork and immediately fell in love with it.
After spending 11 years living abroad, I began making my first glass pieces in 2006.
2009
I started creating new items such as glass pens and founded “Kawanishi Glass.”
Since childhood, I’ve been fond of insects, and my travels to the Amazon and jungle greatly inspired me.
This is reflected in my glassworks as small green and pink worlds.
